David Harris, the actor known for playing Cochise in the 1979 cult classic The Warriors, has died. He was 75.
Harris died of cancer on Friday at his home in New York City, his daughter Davina Harris told the New York Times.
Based on Sol Yurick’s 1965 novel of the same name, The Warriors told the story of a New York City street gang tasked with traveling from the Bronx to Coney Island after they are framed for murder. Harris’ Cochise was a gang member with a defiant fashion sense, punctuated by a heavy turquoise necklace and headband.
The film was critically panned after its premiere, but later grew to be embraced by a fervent fanbase and now holds an 88 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
“I was in Hong Kong, I was in the Philippines, I was in Tokyo,” Harris said in a 2019 interview. “I’ve done a lot of movies, but I...

For most performers, building up a resume of over 150 projects is something that takes an entire lifetime to achieve, but for James Franco that is a feat he has accomplished at just 45 years old. This Freaky Geek was catapulted to fame in one of biggest comic book franchises of all time before settling in to his role as a performer who can take on any genre and any film no matter how big or small. But with a tremendous rise at such a young age, sometimes you don’t make the best decisions. For Franco, those bad decisions would come to light on the very night of his greatest professional achievement and begin a downfall that is sadly all too common in today’s world. At one point putting out up to 12 projects a year, Franco has taken a backseat as allegations against him began to pile up. It is...

Feb. 19, 2020, marked the end of an era.
After 324 episodes over 15 seasons, Criminal Minds drew to a close with a two-part finale, Criminal Minds Season 15 Episode 9 and Criminal Minds Season 15 Episode 10.
Suffice it to say, we're unlikely to see anything like it again.
Criminal Minds proved that unstable serial killers could be brought into America's living rooms.
Well, at least for an hour a week. No, more than an hour, thanks to cable. No, make that as much as you could stomach, thanks to streaming.
Debuting on Sept. 22, 2005, Criminal Minds was an acquired taste.
It was one never acquired by Mandy Patinkin, who left abruptly after portraying Jason Gideon for the first two seasons.
As Patinkin explained to New York Magazine in 2012, "I thought it was something very different. I never thought they were going to kill and rape all these women every night, every day, week after week, year after year.

Sleepy Hollow has a new head — and, more importantly, a future.
Fox on Wednesday renewed the history-twisting drama for an 18-episode third season after closing a deal with The Glades‘ Clifton Campbell to take over as showrunner.

Campbell replaces Mark Goffman, who stepped down earlier this month in the wake of Sleepy‘s rocky second season, which saw ratings slide 40 percent versus Season 1.
Before creating A&E’s The Glades, Clifton had exec-producer stints White Collar, Profiler and SeaQuest 2032.

With the success of Breaking Bad, Mad Men, and The Walking Dead, AMC shows no signs of slowing down on new TV series development. Two of their upcoming projects include Knifeman and Galyntine, and they’ve announced who will be directing the pilot episodes:
“AMC announced today that it has hired directors for its “Knifeman” and “Galyntine” pilots, both of which will be produced by AMC Studios in 2014 for consideration for series for 2015.
“Knifeman” will be directed by Brian Percival, whose directing credits include “Downton Abbey” and “The Book Thief.” David Mackenzie will direct “Galyntine.” His credits include the films “Starred Up,” and “Perfect Sense.”

AMC is further padding its genre programming with two new series on the way: one called "Galyntine" and the other "Knifeman." No relation to the 60s folk group Galyntine and Knifeman. Garkfunkel wept. Read on for details.
From the Press Release:
“Galyntine” is a wholly-original vision rooted in a both fantasy/action adventure and science-fiction. The pilot takes place at a time after a cataclysmic technology-induced disaster has resulted in a new society that has eschewed any form of technology. This catastrophic event leaves small numbers of survivors scattered around the planet and forced to adapt to isolation and unique challenges. "Galyntine" will explore a post-apocalyptic world in which humanity has evolved – with some strange detours. Galyntine is a man’s journey of discovery through a changed world and its mysterious people.
The project is written by Jason Cahill ("Halt and Catch Fire," "Fringe," "Surface," "Profiler") and executive produced by...

With Breaking Bad finished and Mad Men almost wrapped up as well, AMC is looking for their next big original series. Today, they’ve announced pilot orders for two new genre projects that we’ll be keeping an eye on:
“AMC today announced that it had ordered two pilots, Knifeman and Galyntine, both of which will be produced by AMC Studios in 2014 for consideration for series for 2015.

First AMC introduced The Walking Dead.
Then NBC launched the somewhat similar Revolution.
Now AMC is doing a new drama pilot that sounds … kinda like Revolution.
The cable network has ordered two new drama pilots, one of which is a post-apocalyptic tale after about society that eschews all forms of technology following a global disaster. The other is the tale of an 18th century surgeon. Check out the official descriptions of Knifeman and Galyntine below, both of which are in contentions for series orders for a 2015 debut:

“The Vivien Leigh Anniversary Collection”
Another Wtw, another Cohen Media Group release. Seriously, the good folks at Cohen have been doing an amazing job of finding relatively obscure classics and recent foreign films and polishing them like they’re beloved worldwide. They’re rivaling Criterion and Scream Factory as studios for which every release truly matters. Their latest is a collection of four early films from the legendary Vivien Leigh, an actress best-known for “Gone with the Wind” and a true Hollywood icon.

Robert Davi has been in some of the biggest movies of all time, and you might not even know his name, or even remember his face right away. A long-standing character actor with an impressive résumé, Davi has made memorable turns in mainstream hits like "The Goonies," "Die Hard," and even played the Bond villain in "The Living Daylights." Born in New York, he was trained by Stella Adler and Lee Strasberg, the husband/wife team that honed the likes of Brando, Pacino, James Dean and generations of Oscar-winning thespians.
So, what's a guy like that doing in a film that starts out with a man taking a poop on a restaurant floor while pretending to be mentally disabled in order to steal a hamburger? Davi was in town to talk about "The Great Chameleon," an offensive-to-the-max comedy that elicits few laughs.

I can’t get no satisfaction — not when it comes to American Idol‘s Season 12 theme nights, anyway.
I know, I know: A couple weeks back I put together a gallery of potential alternatives to the usual “Songs That Inspire” and “Songs From the Year You Were Born” — and I’d actually included “’80s Rock” and “No Ballads Allowed” among my 22 suggestions. So you think that Fox’s official announcement of “Classic Rock, No Ballads” for Top 7 night would’ve been cause for nothing but a joyful Headbangers Ball up in Casa Slezak.

Millennium Entertainment has released a brand new trailer for the upcoming biopic based on the life of notorious mob hit man known as the Iceman. Come on in to check out the new trailer, and how cold Michael Shannon can be.
The Iceman story has garnered quite a bit of attention over the years. It's an interesting and morbid tale. I myself have read several books about the life of the hitman, and there's some scary crap when you sit and think about it. I've been interested in seeing how they bring the story to life on the big screen and judging by the trailer, I don't think any of us are going to be disappointed.
Here's the official synopsis:
Inspired by actual events, The Iceman follows notorious contract killer Richard Kuklinski (Academy Award® nominee Michael Shannon) from his early days in the mob until his arrest for the murder of more than 100 men.

Joe Flanigan was born Joseph Harold Dunnigan III on 5th January 1967 in Los Angeles, California. He has three brothers and four sisters. His father left shortly after Joe's birth and Joe changed his surname to Flanigan after John Flanigan, his step father who adopted him. Joe spent most of his childhood at a ranch near Reno, Nevada when his family relocated there when he was aged 6. Joe attended boarding school in Ojai, California at 15. Here he had the lead role in the school production of A Streetcar Named Desire, where he played Stanley Kowalski. After he graduated high school, Joe attended the university of Colorado. Here he read for a history degree and starred in the production of Coriolanus. Joe was seen as shy (hard to believe now) and was told by a friend to take up acting as a means to alleviate his timidness. Said Joe, "At one point in college,...

Their stated goal is to uphold the law of the land and put the bad guys behind bars, but every TV fan knows that our favorite small-screen cops, detectives, and agents — as well as their colleagues who semi-officially serve in crime-fighting capacities — have a duty to increase pulses and raise the temperatures of whatever rooms they enter.

Dennis Christopher, once a mainstay of Hollywood movies, particularly in the late 70s/early 80s, looks set for a big-screen comeback should he join the cast of Quentin Tarantino’s new “Spaghetti Southern” flick Django Unchained. Christopher, who I particularly remember from the horror movie Fade to Black, has been acting for 40 years, mostly in television in shows such as Freakylinks (that’s the second time I’ve mentioned that show this week), Profiler and Deadwood.
Tarantino has a knack for resurrecting the careers of those long out of the public eye, including – most famously – John Travolta in Pulp Fiction. If Christopher does officially sign on the dotted line, he’ll play a character named Leo Moguy, who serves sadistic slavemaster named Calvin Candie’s (Leonardo DiCaprio) lawyer in the story.

Also producing are Graham Yost (Justified) and Robert Rodat (writer of Saving Private Ryan). Noah Sorota is scoring the show. Before Walker made it as an actress, she worked in the medical field, and to hear her tell it, the medical industry should be glad she took a different path.
One of her first jobs was at a genetic engineering firm in San Francisco. "I did the grunt work," she said. "I was doing like the lab tech work, I was like sequencing DNA and splicing and cloning and stuff, which no one understands here." She almost blew up the lab. "I thought, you know, maybe I should do a little career change here," she said.

Tisha Campbell-martin: For one, Ally Walker is amazing to work with. She’s been doing Sons of Anarchy and Profiler but now she’s back with this. For me,...
