The only version of this I've been able to find so far is a Thai dub, so I might have had a harder time following along if not for first seeing the director's sequel/reboot Vegas Skyline. I enjoyed that one, but I'm partial to Alien Vows (even without English dialogue).
Like its follow-up, the focus is on a couple whose relationship is on the rocks. Things only get worse when aliens enter the picture, with the purpose of replacing humans and producing hybrid babies. At least I think that's what's going on.
There's a lot of great rubber-suit spacemen and plastic laser gun action, with the trappings of ultra-low-budget, only-on-VHS cinema.
Anyone who likes the lo-fi but high-energy spectacle of Don Dohler's sci-fi flicks (and doesn't mind a little extra nineties sleaze) will probably dig Alien Vows. But you'll have to find it first. If you do come across an English version, please share.
