Trivia

The Bandit

Edit
This movie is exclusively regarded as the savior and the turning point of the Turkish cinema which was desperately struggling against the foreign films since 1980 and having difficulty to attract the domestic audience.
Highest-grossing movie in Turkey until 2001.
Sener Sen stated in an interview, "In this movie we try to display our people, our self personalities to the screen. We expect to find the way to reach the universality via tell about us."
Keje is played by the real life wife (of the time) of Sener Sen. The two met at an earlier movie Muhsin Bey (which is also directed by Yavuz Turgul). Later they got divorced.
Official submission of Turkey for the 'Best Foreign Language Film' category of the 70th Academy Awards in 1998.
