Michael Jordan and Billy West in Space Jam (1996)

FAQ

Space Jam

FAQ

Looney Tunes doesn't have any canon (in general), e.g. in classix shorts, bugs bunny has a blonde girlfriend in only one cartoon, in another he has a wife which is completely different, and there's a valentine's short which is centered around a completely different female bunny. This is only an example, but generally, the word 'canon' means nothing in looney tunes universe, but I personally like to believe "The Looney Tunes Show" and "Looney Tunes: Rabbits Run" are in the same universe which isn't the same universe as other looney tunes media, and they have their own sitcom-verse.

Super-Rabbit (1943). Bugs Bunny and a horse play basketball with a cannonball.

Here Come the Co-eds (1945). After competing in a wacky wrestling match, Oliver (Lou Costello) dresses in drag to play on a women's basketball team.

Trap Happy Porky (1945). Two mice play basketball with an olive.

Double Dribble (1946). Two teams consist entirely of Goofy clones in this wacky animated "how to" short.

The Harlem Globetrotters (1951). The Harlem Globetrotters play basketball in their own inimitable way. See also: Harlem Globe Trotters (1970), The Harlem Globetrotters Popcorn Machine (1974), The Super Globetrotters (1979), The Harlem Globetrotters on Gilligan's Island (1981) and The Harlem Globetrotters: The Team That Changed the World (2005).

The Absent Minded Professor (1961). The school basketball team gets a much-needed, and very literal, boost when the title prof puts Flubber (flying rubber) on the bottom of the players' tennis shoes.

Scooby Doo and a Mummy, Too (1969). Scooby Doo kicks a mummy into a basketball hoop.

Space Jam (1996). The Looney Tunes and Michael Jordan play the Monstars.

Air Bud (1997). A golden retriever can play basketball with the best of them.

BASEketball (1998). Goofballs play a game that's a combination of baseball and basketball.

Like Mike (2002). Magic shoes help a 14-year-old orphan become an NBA star. See also: Like Mike 2: Streetball (2006).

Dan Castanella (voice of Homer on The Simpsons) and Patricia Heaton (Debra from Everybody Loves Raymond).
