After Ghungroo Ki Awaaz with Vijay Anand Rekha, Telephone with Shatrughan Sinha and Parveen Babi and ' OM ' (shelved) with Rajesh Khanna and Mandakini, The Ramsay Brothers attempted another big film, Talaashi with major stars, Jackie Shroff, Juhi Chawla and Ektaa, but this film was delayed and dint get proper release and this was one of the last Ramsay Brothers made.
Remake of FX - Murder By Illusion.
The movie was first announced in June 1989. The film started production around 1993 and the film was almost complete by 1996. The Ramsay Brother became occupied with their television production Zee Horror Show, hence they did not give time to this film. This resulted to Jackie Shroff and Juhi Chawla also not giving their dates to the producer.
The soundtrack for the film released in 1994. Despite so many delays, the producers had promised distributors and exhibitors in the year 1996 that the film will finally be releasing in that year, as only a small amount of shoot was yet to commence in order for completion. The shoot that was pending was not completed till 2003.
The film eventually got a release in May 2003 without many takers.
