Juhi Chawla, Govinda, and Anil Kapoor in Deewana Mastana (1997)

Trivia

Deewana Mastana

Edit
The film was launched as "Bodyguard" with Anil Kapoor Sunny Deol and Zeba Bhaktiar. When Zeba had to leave the country due to VISA issues the script was changed to a comedy and Sunny Deol also opted out. Shah Rukh Khan was signed for Govinda's role. Due to date hassles he also opted out. That's when David Dhawan asked his favorite Govinda to do the role.
Johny Lever received his first Filmfare Award for Best Comedian for his work in the film.
The film was released on the same day as another David Dhawan film, Mr. & Mrs. Khiladi (1997).
When Shahrukh Khan was doing the film, it was titled "Dum Dum Diga Diga".
Shah Rukh Khan was initially going to play the role of Bunnu, that ended up being played by Govinda after Shah Rukh had date issues. This was the only time David Dhawan and Shah Rukh Khan came close to doing with each other and didn't get the chance to work together for the next 17 years.

Cameo

Salman Khan: at the end in this film starring Anil Kapoor and Govinda. 12 years later both Govinda and Anil Kapoor appeared in Salman's film Wanted (2009) in song 'Jalwa'.
