The Postman

FAQ

A vagrant whom roams the post apocalyptic United States arrives in a village to perform a Shakespearian play in exchange for food. But, The Holonists, an army of rogue gunmen led by the evil General Bethlehem arrives to recruit villagers and the vagrant is captured and forced to join the Holonists against his will. The vagrant escapes and during a rainstorm, he stumbles upon a jeep and uses it for shelter. The vagrant dons the uniform of the skeleton of a dead mailman and takes his bag of mail and pretends to be a mailman so he can con towns for food and shelter and makes up a big lie that the American government has been rebuilt and reorganized and is working on restoring the United States. Like wildfire, the vagrant's lie spreads across the post apocalyptic United States and the vagrant's lies brings hope to the survivors, General Bethlehem soon learns about this and the so-called "Postman" and the made up restored American government threatens him and his power and General Bethlehem sets out to crush the vagrant and end his influence on the survivors as the vagrant has unwittingly become a key figure in rebuilding civilization and putting an end to General Bethlehem's cruelty and tyranny.

The film also eliminates the "Squire of Sugarloaf" a leader of a local community who the Postman tries to enlist to help in the fight against the Holnists
