Modern Romance

1 review
8/10

A Wong Jing Production: Modern Romance.

Modern Romance (1994) was a cheesy romantic comedy from Wong Jing and his film staff. Four tales involving four different women (Christy Cheung, Chingmy Yau, Sandra Kwan, Carrie Ng). The four friends and co-workers always share tales about their love life and details about their boyfriends and lovers. Carrie is the wild girl, Christy is the young idealistic woman, Sandra is the supervisor and she's always on the prowl and Chingmy is looking for the perfect man. Do the women ever find true love? Will it affect the work place environment? To find out you'll just have to watch MODERN ROMANCE.

Although it's a romantic comedy, Wong Jing's idea of a "chick flick:" is not what you expect if you've watched nothing but Western films (i.e American and English dramas). Wong Jing likes to play and even field and have humor that'll please both men and women. You have hot women, attractive guys and a lot of toilet humor. So be forewarned. Despite it's romantic comedy label, it's a funny film that aims to please. Co-stars Esther Kwan, Michael Wong, Michael Chow, Nat Chan, Roy Cheung, Bowie Lam and Yuen King Tan.

Highly recommended.
