Another innocent romantic film with action. Ajay Devgan and Tabu- the evergreen couple.
Vijaypath review :
Released on same day as the all time biggest blockbuster Hum Aapke Hain Koun (HAHK) in 1994, Vijaypath was typical actioner spearheaded by Ajay Devgn who was only known as an action hero that time. Surprisingly, it took a bigger opening than HAHK (which had a limited release in first few weeks) and became a sleeper hit of that year.
A fresh Tabu was paired opposite Ajay and they looked good together on screen. Anu Maliks songs Ruk Ruk Ruk became quite popular.
The action sequences were the films highlight and Ajay was simply rocking pulling off those tough stunts designed by dad Veeru Devgan. Danny played a formidable villain and his performance was fantastic. Gulshan Grover hammed it up as his bumbling nephew.
I had seen the film on VHS during its release and liked it for its action. It airs occasionally on satellite tv also. Do watch it if you havent.

Box office success doesn't necessarily assure a good film, and "Vijaypath" is no exception to it. It's a simple revenge movie full of improbabilities and stupidity. Perhaps the success of "Phool Aur Kaante" compelled the film maker to churn the action image of Ajay Devgan.
The plot is much contrived and the sequences created are simply amateurish. In between there are some well choreographed songs, which does a little to geld the story and mostly not situational. Perhaps it's what 90s mass craved for, a lot of action though there is less to offer in the plot. Overall, the film looks technically well, otherwise it's a forgettable film in terms of story.
Rating: 1 star out of 4.

i saw it back in 1994 when it was released, i was barely in any state to conclude anything(i was ..what 10 then) but i was a huge fan of action flicks and ajay devgun was my personal favourite(my brother made me like him). anyways... i have given it 10 out of 10 as it used to be my favourite movie(kids are so mindless, aren't they?!) and i love everything about this movie. ajay was terrific, tabu looked most beautiful and everything was just near perfect. i haven't seen the movie again(i never got a chance) but i would love to see it again sometime. Things has really changed over the years, ajay now actually being recognised for what he really is- one of the finest actor in this generation. But at the very time i get a feeling that this man is doing great work he comes up with some total crap like blackmail or main aisa hi hoon.. ajay, please don't do this!
I liked this movie very much ........Ajay is playing a blind guy who gets transformed his eyes from his friend when he was young ...he devoted never to take of his glasses unless he saw the guy that kill his parents in hospital.....And also the movie has a very good action from Ajay Devgan...Tabu looks good with Ajay and this movie is one of my favorites ...........i would recommend this movie to every who is a fan of Ajay n Tabu.............. Vijay Bat was on of the best movies in the 90s and at that time Ajay was one of the highest paid actores...the movie also has a good romantic between Ajay and Tabu... This movie is one movie that I would like watch over and over again I gave 100% good movie...........

- TriviaThe film is based on the epic Mahabharata. As per director, Faruq Sidique, the character sketch of Ajay Devgn is inspired from the main hero of Mahabharata, Karna who was the only undefeated warrior throughout the epic and was ever-victorious.
- GoofsIn one of the scenes of the song "Raah mein unse mulakat ho gayi", Tabu's hairs are shown tied for a second and then again opened up.
