In the opening, the cargo of carrots is a reference to Kummeli's creators, Porkkanaryhmä (Carrot group).
Two V6 rally versions of Saab 96 car were built for the film. One was used for the driving scenes while the other was built to handle the crash scenes.
According to the captain Luxembourg is "a mouse dropping about the size of Forssa". Actually, Luxembourg is ten times the size of Forssa, but still smaller than Joensuu.
The Finnish Kummeli group took influences from Monty Python. They had similar humor and episodic structure. The lead actors from Kummeli Stories are also portraying several characters during the course of the film and there's room for improvisation.
