He-Man and the Masters of the Universe (1983)

Trivia

He-Man and the Masters of the Universe

Edit
The writers deliberately gave Alan Oppenheimer's characters lines in quick succession, so they could watch him switch between characters during recording sessions.
This was the first cartoon in the United States to go straight to syndication and air on weekday afternoons, instead of Saturday mornings.
Orko's name was originally Gorpo. The character's name was changed to save on animation costs. Because of the symmetrical "O," animators were able to flip animation cells and use them twice.
Executive producer Lou Scheimer was instrumental in developing the concept of He-Man previously established by Mattel Toys and DC Comics. The character had originally appeared in DC comics which first introduced the concept of Prince Adam as He-Man's alter ego. The Filmation series made changes to the character of the Sorceress, combining her with the falcon Zoar and introduced Orko as the jester-style comic relief, to make the show more kid-friendly. Despite these changes, the show still came under fire from some groups as too violent, with some even accusing it of having hidden Satanic messages.
Skeletor's voice is the same voice Alan Oppenheimer used for Ming the Merciless in Filmation's earlier cartoon "Flash Gordon".
