This is "Fatal attraction" in all but name and location. This handsome man, successful but with a troubled personal life, has a one night stand with a woman and she, having some SERIOUS mental disorder, cannot take being rejected afterwords. She is convinced he is in love with her and decides to do something about the things she consider to be obstacles in their relationship,f ex his ex-wife, girlfriend and her own father (who wants to have her committed). After the promising pre-credits sequence and a surprisingly steamy sex-scene in the beginning of the picture, everything halts to a near stop. This woman is insane and kills. Period! There is some half-hearted stalking and Anne Looby does her best to be a almost normal psychopath, with very sudden mood swings. James Healy is an attractive and sexy leading man (if somewhat wooden), some suspense is well-handled and the cinematography is handsome for the most part, but the picture offers nothing new. Basically competent but unoriginal. And someone PLEASE replace the soundtrack with something else! It is DREADFUL!
A murder mystery of sorts, an Aussie flavored FATAL ATTRACTION, but without the actors, budget or talent! I saw this film funnily enough whilst I was overseas during the early nineties, late one night at a hotel in Inverness (I think the ONLY hotel in Inverness!) I'm probably one of the few people left, outside the production team, who actually remember it! It's not one of my favored memories!
James Healy is unremarkable businessman (stockbroker, actually) Gary, who meets Ms Looby (Anna)in an airport lounge. Maybe its her brunette hair, her deodorant, whatever, but he has an immediate bad case of the hots for her and is soon really flying high! Without giving too much away (neat trick huh? I actually fell asleep during crucial moments!) poor old Gary decides he may have been a tad impetuous and decides to keep a respectable distance, as in "See ya!"
Wrong girl! Anna isn't ready for total rejection and people start dying! Before you can say "Well ain't this one ridiculous little movie?" Gary's life is on a major downer and only the final credits can save him - and the audience, from further agony!
If I HAD to find something complimentary to say about it, I'd have to volunteer Steve Arnold's cinematography as being not too bad!
