"Deliverance: Part 1" was originally billed as the season finale and then later it was the series finale since ABC canceled the show on a cliffhanger.
Sherilyn Fenn played Dr. Sloan Parker in the original pilot. It was reshot when Debra Messing took over the role.
Debra Messing almost had to turn down the part of Grace on Will & Grace (1998) when it looked like this show might get renewed for the 1998 Fall Season.
NBC counter programmed the top-rated Friends opposite this show in order to hurt its ratings, so that is would be canceled and Debra Messing would be available to star in Will & Grace.
