Triple To-Zé Martinho, Cristina Aguiar (pseudonym of Maria João Mira before launching as a solo author) and Ana Rita Martinho, were considered the number one writers for soap operas in Portugal. "A Grande Aposta" was the 3rd of a success trilogy: Field ("Roseira Brava"), Beach ("Vidas de Sal) and City ("A Grande Aposta"). It was the last soap opera written by these three authors to RTP, and the same signed contract with TVI.
This is a pure soap opera, with urban touches and contemporary, that made The Big Bet a great novel, and one of the most successful ever.
It was the last participation of Sofia Sá da Bandeira in a soap opera, having returned to this genre only 10 years later, in "Vila Faia" (2008).
It was a successful interpretation of Margarida Marinho, who was doing her first soap opera, and were also successful interpretations of Virgílio Castelo and Manuela Santos, in the roles of the plot villains.
Luís Esparteiro and Rogério Samora also have here a great time television.
