State and Main (2000)

Trivia

State and Main

Edit
The movie, set in Vermont, was shot primarily in a seaside town in Massachusetts.
The script page visible in the scene where Ann slaps Joes finger, is an actual script from this film itself, revealing dialogue from the scene where the mayor invites Marty to the dinner party.
A closing credits title card reads: "Only 2 animals were harmed during the making of this film". Later during the same end credits roll it is formally officially stated that no animals were harmed during the making of this film.
The running gag and story-line regarding whether actress Claire Wellesley (Sarah Jessica Parker) will take her clothes off for the movie being filmed and appear topless is an in-joke and reference to the well publicized fact that Parker was the only one of the four lead actresses on the television series 'Sex and the City' (1998-2004) who did not do topless nudity and this was allegedly contractual.
The reason for the crazy credit "a complete list of associate producers is available on request" is that throughout the film anyone who could help make the film-within-the-film was given an associate producer credit.
