The Wedding Party (1997)

Trivia

The Wedding Party

Edit
The production was designed to so that the film's two stories had completely different looks but shared enough similarities in shooting styles to enable them to be intercut seemlessly.
The filming of the movie was divided into two halves with the ''Guy and Lizzie'' relationship shot first. The second and final part filmed was the ''Guy and Jenny'' relationship.
Debut theatrical feature film directorial of director Cherie Nowlan.
Of the film's two story-lines, director Cherie Nowlan said: ''They are the two stories which are the flipside of each other and together make a unique and interesting whole. The worlds look and feel different in obvious, appropriate ways. Guy and Jenny's story is set throughout the '80s. Guy and Lizzie's story is set in 1995. One is a wealthy, privileged world. The other ranges from a living wage existence to a more comfortable, middle-class life. Everything about Guy and Jenny's world is casual and temporary. Everything about Guy and Lizzie's world is formal and setting-in-concrete throughout the film.''
Around a dozen cast and crew personnel worked on both this picture and director Cherie Nowlan's recent previous short film Lucinda, 31 (1995). These included actress Jane Turner, cinematographer Kathryn Milliss, writer Alexandra Long, assistant director John Martin, production designer Clarissa Patterson and four guys from the sound department.
