At around the 41 minute mark, an overhead page can be heard in the hospital for a "Dr. Chris Cooper". "Dr. Chris Cooper" is the name of the lead character in Kids in the Hall: Brain Candy (1996), where he was played by Kevin McDonald, who also makes a cameo appearance early on in this film as the motel's manager. Furthermore, the "Chris Cooper" character was named after Christopher Cooper, who not just edited Brain Candy, but also this movie.

Fellow The Kids in the Hall (1988) star Kevin McDonald plays the front desk clerk at the motel.
