Jet Li in Once Upon a Time in China and America (1997)

Trivia

Once Upon a Time in China and America

Edit
The film was shot at the Alamo Village, the movie set originally created for John Wayne's The Alamo (1960).
This is the only Wong Fei-Hung film shot in the US.
In the book "I Am Jackie Chan", Chan accused director Sammo Hung of stealing the main idea of the film, a Chinese martial artist losing his memory in the Wild West, from him. The friends apparently avoided another one of their periodic falling outs cause Sammo apologized to Jackie for the theft.
The DVD by Ritek plus the Blu-Ray releases by Eureka and Criterion contain the original sync-sound Mandarin track. All other versions are dubbed without the cast's real voices.
This sixth entry into the franchise is the only film not to be produced by Golden Harvest as they decided to pass on the project due to diminishing returns for parts IV and V. Once Sammo Hung secured Jet Le to return, China Star swung in to produce the film. This change in studio has made it difficult to obtain this sixth entry in home media box sets and collections of the franchise as Golden Harvest does not allow films they've produced to be featured in sets alongside films produced by other studios. Criterion was able to get around this for their blu-ray box set by listing this sixth film as a "bonus feature" and not predominately on the artwork with parts I-V, the Golden Harvest entries.
