Cheryl Lawson in The Dead Pit (1989)

Trivia

The Dead Pit

Edit
On the Code Red dvd release of the film, lead actress Cheryl Lawson reveals why her character spends a portion of the movie in just a tiny tank top and bikini panties. Apparently Lawson felt the normal-sized hospital gown made her look large, so she cut part of it off. The more her outfit was washed, the more the gown shrank and the underwear became tighter, much to the delight and amusement of the film crew.
The film sold well on video due to a gimmick on the original VHS: the zombie's eyes could flash green at the touch of a button.
Filmed in the high security wing of Agnew State Hospital, Milpitas CA. The wing was closed down for many years, had no power, and used to house the most violent and dangerous patients. Since most of the movie was filmed at night, the empty wing really added a very creepy feel to the process.
The infamous 'pin in the brain scene' was cut from the American release for being too graphic.
The recreational room where Jane meets Chris is the exact same location Green Day shot their music video for 'Basket Case'.
