In 1939, the film became a talkie, and was shot in a Hollywood studio. In 1993, this copy was restored by the Greek Film Archive.

This movie was the first Greek film blockbuster for the purposes of which, it's worth noting, the then government of Venizelos provided about 1500 soldiers (for some 2500) and three cavalry companies.

This film marks the cinematic debut of the famous Greek actor, Vasilis Avlonitis.

The man playing King Otto's role was not an actor, but an officer of the Presidential (formerly Royal) Guard, wearing the real, official uniform of the king. Ms Andreadou, an amateur actress, who played Queen Amalia, wore the queen's reception dress, a museum offer. Some interior scenes were filmed in Otto's first palace, at Klafthmonos Square, while others in the main entrance of the Old Palace.
