Aldo Baglio, Giacomo Poretti, Giovanni Storti, and Marina Massironi in Three Men and a Leg (1997)

Trivia

Three Men and a Leg

Edit
Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo did not ask for money for their performances, reserving only a percentage of the film's takings.
Actor Giacomo Poretti stated in an interview that it was very difficult to film the scenes in the car because they had to use powerful headlamps which hurt their eyes and forced them to continuously use eye drops.
Some sketches of the movie are taken by previous stage and TV shows of the trio: the climb on the mountain, the movie set on the tram, the gangsters and Count Dracula. The three latter scenes are intended as hommages to the trio's favourite movie genres, respectively neorealism, gangster movies and horror.
Marina Massironi (Chiara) had been married with Giacomo Poretti until 1994. Their divorce didn't affect their artistic partnership, which lasted until the 2000s: she worked with the trio on TV, stage and cinema and starred in other two of their movies, That's Life (1998) and Ask Me If I'm Happy (2000). In particular, the three movies form a sort of trilogy: in Tre uomini e una gamba it's Giacomo the one falling in love with Massironi's character, in Così è la vita (1998) it's Aldo and in Chiedimi se sono felice (2000) it's Giovanni.
Despite being a first feature movie, Tre Uomini e una Gamba proved to be a success beyond all expectations, launching the career of Aldo, Giovanni and Giacomo on the big screen and of Venier behind the camera
