Many painful years after the end of the German Occupation and World War II, sad-eyed Maria returns home to attend a memorial service. With this in mind, the inhabitants have prepared a humble ceremony to celebrate the heroic feat of the Greek Army officer and the island's local hero, Dimitris Boumas. However, Maria, who is no longer bound by her solemn promise, decides to break her silence and recounts the events of that fateful night to the deceased's father, Thanassis. But, even now, no one seems to remember Loukas, the laughing stock of the village. Will the community ever discover Loukas' sacrifice?
