Finnish novelist Juhani Aho's Juha's (1911) first Finnish film adaptation, produced by Aho's sons Heikki Aho and Björn Soldan.
Feature film debut for Irma Seikkula who went on to become the biggest female film star in Finland of the 1930's.

Some of the scenes filmed for the end of the movie were destroyed in a fire. The scenes were not re-filmed, and instead of using them director and editors cut together material from other scenes.
