A biography on the rise and fall of Steve Wynn, the longtime Las Vegas casino owner and billionaire, is being developed for a small or big screen treatment.

Scott Jay Kaplan and Emmet McDermott’s CoverStory producer banner optioned Christina Binkley’s Winner Takes All book about Wynn’s meteoric rise from scrappy bingo parlor operator to casino billionaire for a film or TV adaptation. Wynn resigned from his corporate empire in 2018 amid sexual misconduct allegations.

CoverStory’s McDermott produced White Hot: The Rise & Fall of Abercrombie & Fitch, Alison Klayman’s documentary for Netflix about the popularity and ruin of the once coveted “all-American” retail brand.

Binkley will co-produce the Winner Takes All adaptation, which will be set mainly in the 1990s as Wynn’s drive for power set up his ultimate corporate demise. That created a vacuum of power filled by his ex-wife Elaine, on whom Wynn blamed his downfall.

Nita Strauss, who recently rejoined Alice Cooper’s band as lead guitarist, has announced a new solo album. The set, titled The Call of the Void, will drop on July 7th via Sumerian Records.

Strauss explained of the album’s new title in a press release, “Have you ever been at the top of a high building and had the fleeting thought, ‘I could jump right now?’ This feeling is sometimes called ‘The Call of the Void,’ also known as ‘high place phenomenon.’ It’s not a suicidal impulse, rather the exact opposite — a subconscious decision to live your life, to step back from the ledge, and take control. It’s a big day for Alice Cooper, as the legendary shock rocker has announced deluxe expanded reissues of classic albums Killer (1971) and School’s Out (1972) after revealing the tentative title for his upcoming studio LP.

The reissues are set to arrive June 9th via Rhino on 2-cd and 3-lp formats and will feature remastered audio of the original album tracks, rare recordings, and previously unreleased era-specific concerts. After recently rejoining Alice Cooper’s band, guitarist Nita Strauss has unveiled a new single, “Winner Takes All,” featuring the legendary shock rocker himself.

The track features Strauss’ virtuoso guitar playing alongside Cooper’s trademark vocals, with an anthemic chorus. It follows Strauss previous singles “The Wolf You Feed” (featuring Arch Enemy’s Alissa White-Gluz) and “Dead Inside” (featuring Disturbed’s David Draiman). All three songs are expected to be included on her as-yet-untitled upcoming album.

“When we were working on the music for this album, there was no question that I wanted to create a song to collaborate with my longtime boss and friend, the legendary Alice Cooper,” Strauss said of “Winner Takes All.”
