Legends of the Superheroes (1979)

Trivia

Legends of the Superheroes

Edit
In his autobiography, Adam West explicitly regretted this project; specifically the extremely cheap production. Of note are that the episodes were recorded on videotape rather than film, the heroes' and villains' respective headquarters are clearly the same set, exterior shots all take place in the same park, even by the standards of the day, the special effects are crude, and most of the hero and villain costumes are of low quality.
The original cowl Adam West wore in the 1966 Batman TV Series was stripped and recovered by the seamstress who made the cowl for Legends of the Superheroes. She neglected to take photos and worked from memory to make her cowl. When she made it, the neck was too short, the cowl was a different color, and there were different markings on the front.
Burt Ward apparently did here what he could never do in the Batman TV series. Instead of using skin-colored tights that caused numerous problems, he displayed neatly shaved legs.
Live-action debut of DC Comics hero Black Canary.
Produced by Hanna-Barbera, this television special is a live action version of The Super Friends cartoon, specifically Super Friends (1973). The producers were unable to use the characters of Superman and Wonder Woman (featured in the original Super Friends) since Superman launched into a film franchise, and Wonder Woman had her own television series at the time. Superman, Batman (but not Robin), and Wonder Woman had their first live action appearance onscreen together in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice (2016).
