To keep costs low, the production unit would tape new episodes over older ones, erasing almost all the telenovela; only seven of the 327 original episodes produced still exist today, stored at the Brazilian Cinematheque in São Paulo.
This telenovela revolutionized Brazilian television storytelling by innovating in style, introducing a more natural acting technique, and employing colloquial dialogue. It was also the first to use product placement.
