Despite the UK version of this film being cut to pieces by the BBFC, there is still a bit of fun and sex to be gleaned from this spoof of the famous fairy tale. The costumes lend some period authenticity to the production but that is about it. The dialogue is rooted firmly in 20th century USA. Even the motor vehicle seen moving along the road in the background is left in: maybe they thought no-one will notice. Tom Byron as the court jester tries his hand at rap.

The film follows the original story quite closely. Princess Amber (Hyapatia Lee) and the rest of the royal court fall into a deep sleep for one hundred years until she is awakened by a kiss (and a lot more besides) from a passing prince (Robert Bullock). There is more action with Tom Byron and Ona Zee's Queen Imelda; and Randy West and Tori Welles. The humour is a bit corny but enough for a few smiles. Films like this are not meant to be taken seriously so just watch and enjoy.

In this porn version of the sleeping beauty fairytale, the king, apparently from the Bronx, is cheating on the queen.After he buffs her, she tells him she's a fairy and places an evil curse on the King's offspring. The Princess (Hyapatia Lee) will fall into a deep, deep sleep after being eaten out when she turns 21. She'll stay that way till a prince kisses her. The inane attempt at humor falls flatter than most of the porn starlets' chests, all of the sex scenes are unerotic. All in all, a failure. For Fairytale porn, go seek out 1976's Alice in Wonderland instead.

A must for fans of true superstars Hyapatia Lee and Tori Welles, Paul Thomas's send-up of "Sleeping Beauty" is fun to watch three decades-plus later in its refusal to conform to any conventions. The fake-hip dialogue, clash of authentic-looking period costumes with modern settings, and slapstick content is a treat, foreshadowing an even more unconventional approach to "Snow White" and even "Hamlet" by Italian filmmaker Luca Damiano 6 years later.

Before the hot sex takes over and Hyapatia effortlessly turns the show into a vehicle for her talents, PT dares the viewer to buy into his concept, by having outlandish conceits like Randy West playing King Ferdinand like a mobster (verbally) from Jersey and Tom Byron amusing as a rapper. April West as Mother Goose carries the story in her narration (when not being serviced softcore by her assistant Don Fernando) and even joins into the show in a threesome sex scene later on.

Tori Welles, soon to be porn's #1 star for a while, is strong as the wicked fairy who applies the curse that puts Lee to sleep for 100 years. Porn's best actor of the day, Robert Bullock, is terrific dancing into the movie in white & gold tuxedo as our prince who sexually ends her slumber, and Ona Zee is perfectly cast as the promiscuous queen who almost plays it straight among the outrageous shenanigans going on. Tammy White is also a scene-stealer with her perfect impression of the Good Fairy trying to set matters straight. Hyapatia's spouse Bud Lee has a fun in-joke scene with her.

While PT was later to become perhaps porn's GOAT among film directors, it's great fun seeing him let himself go, completely oblivious to potential criticism.
