Rishi Kapoor approached Pran for the film. Rishi was persistent that Pran do another film for the R.K. banner.Pran declined as his health was very bad. Pran was worried if he passed away during the shoot, the film would suffer. Alok Nath replaced him.

This film was the second of Raj Kapoor's Production R.K.Films which was without Lata Mangeshkar singing any song in Film. The first one being Mera Naam Joker.
Raj Kapoor always wanted Rajesh Khanna to star in his Production Company R.K.Films. So years later Rajesh Khanna worked in this Raj Kapoor's Production. Infact all the artists crew & technitions worked in AALC were first time working in an R.K.Flms Rishi Kapoor and Moushoumi Chatterjee had misunderstanding during Do Premee and never acted together again. Then Rishi Kapoor took Moushumi Chatterjee in this film. Before he went away Nadeem and Shravan had recorded 3 songs. Then Shravan alone completed the work.
