Sandra Bullock and Ben Affleck in Forces of Nature (1999)

Trivia

Forces of Nature

Edit
In a scene early in the movie, the two leads are shown sitting in an outdoor location in front of a large rusty globe. This location is in the city of Savannah, although the two characters have not reached Savannah by that point of the story.
About a year after the release of the movie, Sandra Bullock actually did survive a plane crash when the corporate jet she was a passenger in skidded off the runway at the Jackson Hole, Wyoming airport. She was not injured in the crash.
The film was initially marketed as a potentially-loose remake of Planes, Trains & Automobiles (1987), which was also released through Paramount Pictures. The films feature similar plots, of a businessman who has to return home in a short amount of time and finds himself in the company of an annoying loudmouth. Although it was never billed as a remake, numerous interviews claimed the material was at least inspired by John Hughes' film. Coincidence or intentional, actor Bill Erwin appears on both films.
The airport near the beginning of the film, supposedly LaGuardia in New York City, is actually Washington, D.C., a.k.a. Dulles International Airport in Northern Virginia.
The driving scene on the island near the end of the film, supposedly Hawaii, is actually Trunk Bay in the U.S. Virgin Islands.
