This is the first Japanese anime TV series to be given an English dub.

Alternate versions
When this Japanese anime TV series was released in English-speaking countries, Tetsujin #28's name was changed to Gigantor and all of the other characters also had their names changed. All references in it to World War II were cut, and the time line was changed to the year 2000 instead of the 1960s. Also, the main location of Japan was changed to the United States, but the Tokyo Tower, Mt. Fuji, and the Japanese kanji were left unchanged.
