Govinda was very desperate to get the role eventually played by Ashish Chanana.
Ashish Chanana was signed for the film but opted out due to signing a solo lead film. That is when Sumeet Saigal, Govinda and Jeet Upendra were auditioned. Jeet Upendra was then selected for the film. But then Ashish Chanana solo lead film did not take off and he was back in Aag Aur Shola.
Khushboo was signed for the film, but producer Prasan Kapoor dropped her from the film without letting her know. Khusboo retaliated by giving several interviews against Prasan Kapoor.
Jeetendra's costume in the film was originally made for Amitabh Bachchan in Shahenshah 1988.In 1985 when Amitabh Bachchan fell ill with Gravis the films scheduled got delayed for a year and costume designer Kachins (a cloth brand ) gave the costume to Jeetendra for this film.
Sridevi voice is dubbed by a dubbing artiste.
