Trivia

Nishan

Edit
Based on The Prisoner of Zenda.
The song "Bbuddah Hoga Terra Baap (Accapella)" from the movie Bbuddah... Hoga Terra Baap, was sampled from Henry Mancini song "Baby Elephant Walk" at 0:05. The part sampled comes when Amitabh sings "Thodi Thodi Seena Zori, Thodi Thodi Mata Phodi". The same tune of Baby Elephant Walk was recreated in a scene in Namak.Halaal. The background music comes when Moolchand enters the room to ask Ram Sethi where are the picture's he took of his wife cheating. Gert Wilden's song "Dirty Boy" also sounds the same. The song "Aapki Adaon Pe Gida" from Nishaan (1965) was also sampled from the same Baby Elephant Walk tune. The only difference is the above mentioned films took the intro music and made songs and music, while Nishaan sampled 0:16 of the Baby Elephant Walk song.
The film Nishaan was based on the novel "The Prisoner Of Zenda" (1894) by Anthony Hope or on one of its many adaptations. The novel was adapted by Saradindu Bandyopadhyay for the Bengali novel "Jhinder Bondi" on which the 1961 film of the same title was based. Uttam Kumar, who starred in "Jhinder Bondi" (1961), appeared in another adaptation of the same story, "Bandie" (1977), a bilingual film released in Hindi and Bengali. The Hindi film "Prem Ratan Dhan Payo" (2015) also had the same premise.
