Sridevi was to be the heroine of this film instead of Meenakshi Seshadri. Sridevi missed the chance to work with a legend and a major banner, Navketan.
Dev Anand had tittled this movie as Tahelka (the headlines) when he came to know that the tittle Tahelka has been registered by another producer, he then changed the tittle to Sachche Ka Bol Bala.
After the release of Hum Naujawan, Dev Anand wanted to make a typical commercial, masala type of film which has everithing in correct doses, like good story, top stars, good songs, hit music, dances, location, fights, thrills etc, hence Sachche Ka Bol Bala was result.
This was the last film Kishore Kumar sang for Dev Anand's, Navketan's production. Kishore Kumar sang for Dev Anand for about 40 years.
Dev Anand first time took Bappi Lahiri for this film after S.D.Burman, R.D. Burman and Rajesh Roshan. Then Bappi Lahiri composed music for two other films for Navketan, Awwal Number Sau Crore & Mr.Priminister. Bappi Lahiri first Navketan Movie was Vijay Anand's Main Tere Liye.
