Taryn Manning appears uncredited in a car scene with Pez Boy. She has since become known for roles in 8 Mile, Crossroads, Hustle & Flow, TV's Orange Is The New Black and pop duo Boomkat (with brother Kellin).
Speedway Junkie is filmed in 4:3 format. Unfortunatelly there are DVDs in 16:9 available, where upper and lower parts of the screen are cut off. So look out for a DVD in 4:3 to enjoy the not crippled film.
On TV while Johnny and Eric are at Veronica's is NASA footage, which is public domain (free to use), coming in handy for low-budget film. The voice-over of the footage was Peter Thomas (Forensic Files) bought in at request of the director who liked his work on Nova (1974).
