Samantha Lorraine is putting on her backpack.

The actress, best known for her key role in You Are So Not Invited to My Bat Mitzvah, has been cast as the titular heroine in Nickelodeon Studios’ new live-action Dora the Explorer feature being made for Paramount+ and Nickelodeon.

Alberto Belli, who directed Disney+ holiday feature The Naughty Nine and episodes of Disney show Ultra Violet and Black Scorpion, is helming the new production that has a working title of Dora and the Search for Sol Dorado.

Written by J.T. Billings , the script follows as Dora, her cousin Diego and their new friends trek through perilous dangers of the Amazonian jungle in search of the ancient treasure of Sol Dorado in order to keep this powerful treasure out of enemy hands. Swiper no swiping!

Sol Dorado will be only the second time the adventurous Latina has been translated to the live-action world.

"Memory Crackers" explores a unique love triangle between Nora and the two Nathans, testing her feelings and loyalty. Director Alberto Belli was drawn to "Upload" because of his admiration for the show and the opportunity to work with Greg Daniels. The episode tackles the challenges of shooting VFX-heavy scenes and focuses on the interactions between the characters within the futuristic world of the show.

Dropping on the same day as its predecessor, Upload season 3, episode 6 premiered on Prime Video on Friday, November 3. "Memory Crackers" puts Nora's feelings for Nathan to the ultimate test by pairing her with his backup copy while the real Nathan searches elsewhere for a way to expose Freeyond. Tempted by a relationship that lacks any real-life struggles, Nora finds herself caught between two versions of the man she loves.

The film is an adaptation of Fiona Rosenbloom’s coming-of-age novel of the same name. Stacy Friedman and Lydia Katz have been best friends for quite some time, modernly navigating the stressors of middle school life. Stacy is busy planning her bat mitzvah and ogling over her crush, Andy Goldfarb. However, Lydia ends up stealing Stacy’s crush from her, forcing the two best friends to have a fallout.

Sandler’s daughter Sunny stars in the lead role as Stacy, while his eldest daughter Sadie also appears in the film. Sandler’s “Uncut Gems” co-star Idina Menzel plays his wife in the film.

Gloria Fan, former VP Current Programming at 20th Television, has joined Disney Branded Television as head of Current Series.

In the newly created role, Fan will oversee original series for both Disney Channel and Disney+, reporting to Reena Singh, SVP Development and Current Series.

At Disney Channel, Fan will oversee such series as Sulphur Springs, Emmy-nominated Raven’s Home, and upcoming Ultraviolet & Black Scorpion; and for Disney+, High School Musical: The Musical: The Series and the upcoming Sneakerella, National Treasure and the Beauty & The Beast prequel.

Exclusive: The National Hurricane Center said Friday afternoon that a Category 4 hurricane is forecast to make landfall in Louisiana on Sunday, which marks the exact day Hurricane Katrina devastated the city of New Orleans 16 years ago as a Category 3 storm.

New Orleans Mayor Latoya Cantrell has called for all those who live outside the city’s protective levee system to evacuate. According to the Associated Press, they mayor also asked those inside the levees to voluntarily evacuate ahead of Hurricane Ida’s landfall, predicted for Sunday evening.

“Now is the time to start,” Cantrell said.

NBC reported that the east side of the city may get 7 to 11 feet of water from a combination of storm surge, high tide and torrential rain. Local levees may see overflow, according to the report.

From Godzilla to Gamera to spiders to giant diaper men, the Satellite of Love has a long history making fun of big monsters.

With around 200 episodes, Mystery Science Theater 3000 has covered so many sub-sections of movies. They have Japanese superhero movies, old timey movies about juvenile delinquents, way too many “movies” that are just two episodes of a TV show edited together, and so on. One of these staples is the good, old fashioned giant monster movie.

Godzilla, Gamera, and their many knockoffs have shown up on the Satellite of Love throughout the years...though strangely mostly in season 3. With Godzilla: King of the Monsters here, it's time to take a look at the kaiju movies MST3K has to offer.

Roger Corman’s sons filed a lawsuit on Tuesday seeking to block the sale of his film library, arguing that the titles actually belong to an irrevocable trust.

The suit is part of an estate fight that has been going on for a decade. On March 15, Shout! Factory and China-based Ace Films announced they had purchased 270 titles from Roger and his wife, Julie Corman, for an undisclosed price.

The titles include “Rock ‘n’ Roll High School,” “Battle Beyond the Stars,” “Piranha,” “Galaxy of Terror,” “Bloodfist,” “Black Scorpion,” “Eat My Dust!,” “Humanoids From the Deep,” “The Slumber Party Massacre,” and “Forbidden World.”

The two Corman sons — Roger M. and Brian — allege that their mother has worked for more than 10 years to undermine their father’s estate plan, which was established to minimize tax liabilities. They contend that Roger, who is 91, and Julie have ignored their obligations to the trust set up for the children’s benefit.

Horror fans have had the pleasure of watching Shout! Factory branch out into the realms of theatrical distribution and original content development in recent years, and they're continuing to push forward in an exciting direction with their acquisition (along with Ace Film Hk) of 270 movies from Roger and Julie Corman's New Horizons Picture library.

In the colossal deal approved by Roger and Julie Corman, Shout! Factory acquired all North American, European, Australian, and Russian rights to 270 movies (and one action sci-fi TV series) from the New Horizons library, while Ace Film Hk picked up the rights for those same titles in China, Asia, Africa, and South America.
