The Abruzzo set was also the scene of a frightening accident, fortunately without serious consequences: during the shooting of the chase between the steering wheel seized by Aldo and the police vehicles, one of the two helicopters used had an engine failure and, in an attempt to making a emergency landing, hit the roof of one of the cars in the race, causing it to overturn and causing the slight injury of one of the actors on board.
Many of the mountain scenes are shot in Abruzzo, in the Gran Sasso and Monti della Laga National Park, in particular in Campo Imperatore
Marina Massironi had been married with Giacomo Poretti until 1994. Their divorce didn't affect their artistic partnership, which lasted until the 2000s: she worked with the trio on TV, stage and cinema and starred in other two of their movies, Tre uomini e una gamba (1997) and Chiedimi se sono felice (2000). In particular, the three movies form a sort of trilogy: in Tre uomini e una gamba (1997) it's Giacomo the one falling in love with Massironi's character, in Così è la vita (1998) it's Aldo and in Chiedimi se sono felice (2000) it's Giovanni.
Filming began on July 27, 1998. The first part of the film, set in Milan, was actually shot mostly in Rome; only a couple of scenes were shot in Milan,
The film grossed 46.000.000.000 Italian lire and is the trio's second highest box office success after Chiedimi se sono felice (2000).
