sweet, light, fool comedy

I watched this film by accident, once I got home and just turned the TV on. I saw the description of the film on the screen and I liked it, so I decide to check it out.

The first half of the movie is nothing but fool, full of clichés and jokes that are not so funny. But then it develops to a sweet comedy where the characters fit into a nice story. There's some slight drama going on, but it's still comedy.

The story sounded good to me. It's about a dying man who talks to his best friend and asks him an unusual favour: let him have sex with his wife (played by beautiful Eva Herzigova). This causes some confusion and makes the film a little funny. Then, as the story flows, the comedy gets higher quality and in the end the film pleases us all.

Very funny, but unfortunately untranslatable

Very funny Neapolitan comedy. The plot is witty and original, and the trio Salemme, Casagrande and Buccirosso is at its best. The comedy's only limitation is that it all revolves around the city of Naples (the largest city in Southern Italy and the 3rd in the country): its dialect, its traditions, its sense of humour. Most of the jokes would be hard to grasp for Italians from other parts of the country, let alone for foreigners. In other words, if you don't find this funny, please try to understand that most of the lines are untranslatable: most jokes seem indeed stupid and make little sense when translated into English, but let me assure you they are quite witty in the original version.
