Shararat (1972)

Trivia

Shararat

Edit
There was later a shelved film "Shararat" (1995). Starring Atul Agnihotri, Divya Dutt. Directed by Partho Gosh.
Manmohan Desai stated the film flopped because he did not work hard enough on it. The concept of the village girl posing as a city slicker was not convincing. Desai added that Mumtaz was simply average in the film. Luckily the film came and went fast. Another sore point with the film was Biswajeet. By 1972, his market as a hero in Hindi films was almost done.
Mumtaz's cousin Roopesh Kumar kept insisting that he play villain in the film. But Mumtaz put her foot down and demanded a young struggler named Shatrughan Sinha take the role.
There was a shelved film titled "Shararat"(1997). Starring Faraz Khan, Jugal Hansraj, Sucheta Khanna, Directed by Vikram Bhatt. The film was based on the comic strip Jughead.
