Lex and Laurens Jan have a falling out while facing eviction from their law offices. Meanwhile Bertus has set up a bingo competition downstairs.

Laurens Jan has received a substantial amount of money from his father and begins trading stock. Sjaan and Luus want to invest too, against Bertus and Lex' objections.

Bertus plans a grand Christmas diner for all his old friends who are less well off, like Sjors. Sjaan tries to couple Sjors with Luus instead. L.J. tries to get everyone interested in his poetry.

Laurens Jan buys an antique vase cheaply, then has it auctioned so he can buy a first edition children's book. But Bertus and Lex insist that the money goes to the original owner, Bertus old school teacher.

Luus is back from a management course and puts her newfound knowledge to use both at Lex and L.J.'s law firm as well as Bertus' Occasion Palace.

Laurens Jan is dismayed at having at having to defend crazy squire Henri, who also happens to have a gift of taking away body aches manually.

Sjaan wants to open her own clothing shop. Laurens Jan has won a case against his fathers firm, who offers him and Lex a partnership.

Bertus has redecorated his shop to sell ski's. This makes Sjaan want to take lessons and take a Ski holiday, together with Lex, Laurens Jan and Luus.

Lex, Bertus and Sjaan are off to celebrate Carnaval, but nobody wants to drive back, so they take Laurens Jan along, even though he has an important case the next morning (and no driving license).

Punneke, the 15 year old daughter of one of Lex's many ex-girlfriends wants to stay with Lex. When Luus objects to her pet rat, she tries her luck with Bertus.

Laurens Jan is forced to take driving lessons against his will. Sjaan wants to drive Bertus' big American car but he won't allow it.
