Was dubbed to Arabic by (the Lebanese TV company) in Lebanon in the early 80's under the name (Moghamart al Fadaa) and gained a huge popularity among the children, teenager and adults as being one of the first Anime series to be completely dubbed to Arabic.
Koji Kabuto is the only character to be present in 3 of the major giant-robots series created by Go Nagai: he is also the main character in "Majingâ Zetto" (1972) and appears in the final episodes of "Gurêto Majingâ" (1974-1975).
Aired in North America in the early 80's as part of "Force Five," a syndicated package of five 70's anime series. Only 26 of the original 74 episodes were translated.
Introduced Japanese anime to young French TV viewers in the late 1970s. The success was so phenomenal that it became a matter of concern for parents unsettled by the certain amount of violence displayed in the show. Later on however, the success was confirmed by several other imported series of the same type.
The toys from this anime series were featured in Mattel's phenomenal Shogun Warriors toy line. Grendizer was renamed "Grandizer".
