First major drama produced for the ITV network, by Central Television, who had taken over the Midlands ITV franchise from Lew Grade's ATV.
Although the 'Midlands town setting ' is not specifically named, it was made on location in Birmingham by Central Television and many of the cast have Birmingham accents.
This was Darien Angadi's final broadcast role. It premiered on January 11, 1982, five weeks after he committed suicide on December 5, 1981 at the age of 32.
