While it is true that the twin fighter genre had been done to death, this is quite an interesting film. While many may feel this is a rip-off of DOUBLE IMPACT (1992) and TWIN DRAGONS (1992), there are very notable differences between this film and the previous two. First, there is no separation at birth in this film. Second, there is no Corsican Brothers-like concept of feeling each others pain. This is just a standard action film that stars twin brothers who are martial artists involving themselves with a counterfeit ring resulting in one brother being kidnapped.
The twin brothers of the film are Jay and Joe Gates, experts in the Korean art of taekwondo. They are protege of Edgar Bailey, who appears in the film as counterfeiter Barman. While Bailey himself doesnt have any fight scenes, it is the Gates brothers who shine. They bring a traditional style of the art to the film. They are quite some master kickers with fluidity in their aerials. While there are no flashy style acrobatics like in some of todays martial arts films, the style here consists of power punches, jumping kicks, and even some nice flying angle kicks. Even the actor playing the main fighting villain, Krist Geriene, is quite a martial artist who doesnt have too many fight scenes, but impresses when he does fight the Gates twins.
