What a Cartoon! (1995)

Trivia

What a Cartoon!

Edit
Rob Renzetti's Mina and the Count would later find it's way as a series of short for Nickelodeon's Oh Yeah! Cartoons (1998) however it still wasn't picked up for a series.
The first Cartoon Cartoon original series to be produced by Cartoon Network Studios, and the first produced in-house series to be aired on Cartoon Network after two shows 2 Stupid Dogs (1993) and Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron (1993) were both cancelled. However, the sixth and final season of Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990) was actually produced by Cartoon Network but didn't last long for an hour and the show did not renew for a seventh season after the show was cancelled. The film adaptation of Dumb and Dumber (1995), a Cartoon Network-produced series which was aired on ABC, was canned for 13 episodes after the network was bought by Disney in 1996. The Real Adventures of Jonny Quest (1996) was cancelled for 52 episodes due to low ratings and the show never renewed for a third season. Cave Kids (1997) was canceled for eight episodes due to the Time Warner buyout in 1996 and production was shut down. To fill in the entry, Cartoon Network started focusing their successful shows such as Dexter's Laboratory (1996), Johnny Bravo (1997), Cow and Chicken (1997), The Powerpuff Girls (1998) as part of the series' most well-known Cartoon Cartoons.
The first original series to be made and premiered for Cartoon Network after 2 Stupid Dogs (1993) and Swat Kats: The Radical Squadron (1993) were both canceled due to budget cuts and towards producing Cartoon Network originals. Captain Planet and the Planeteers (1990) was supposed to end with the fifth season, but they are forced to renew the show's sixth and final season due to Ted Turner for supposedly preferring Captain Planet and cancelling SWAT Kats and 2 Stupid Dogs and did not last long thanks to Cartoon Network for premiering the most successful Cartoon Cartoons afterwards.
This anthology series was originally co-produced by Hanna-Barbera with 48 of the original shorts from February 1995 to March 1997 and the Cartoon Cartoon Weekend/The Big Pick shorts from November 1998 to April 2001. After the studio closed down and was folded into Warner Bros. Animation following the death of William Hanna, Cartoon Network Studios took over the animation production role, starting with the later Big Pick/Cartoon Cartoon shorts from June 2001 to August 2002.
This anthology series was originally known as World Premiere Toons/The What A Cartoon! Show (What A Cartoon!), with 48 of the original shorts to premiere from February 1995 to March 1997 (There are reruns of the original 48 shorts were aired until 2000, where The Cartoon Cartoon Show was renamed). Later, The What A Cartoon! Show (What A Cartoon!) was renamed as Cartoon Cartoon Weekend/The Cartoon Cartoon Show (Cartoon Cartoons) (which was used since July 1997), with four of the shorts to premiere from November 1998 to August 1999 (and reruns of the last of the original three shorts was aired in November 1997 designated for a Friday night slot after the original premiere ended) and The Big Pick shorts from June 2000 to August 2002.
