Serious topic that flopped at the box office

simply because it was way ahead of its time.

The literal translation of the title of this movie is: the Resurgence of the Morale.

Audience wanted to see something entertaining, not something so serious because public theaters in China was at its infancy, and movie was thus treated as a curiosity.
