During 1994, Ultra and Sudhakar Bokade fought a legal battle both claiming the film belonged to them resulting the film not to release when planned. In 2000, K.C Bokadia planned to release film but was not able to and the film got a release in 2009.
During its release in 2009, Saif Ali Khan was busy promotion his film Love Aaj Kal when he discovered that it was ready for release. He mentioned how he's embrassed about the film and how he was such a bad actor during them days, hence he rejected to promote or mention anything about the film in any interview
Lawrence D'Souza, the director of the film, mentioned in 2009 that he totally forgot about the film. He even mentioned that he never knew it never got a release till 2009
The theatrical trailer of the film when titled Sambandh released in 1996 with Saif Ali Khan's other release Ek Tha Raja. The trailer can now be found on the Internet.
The film being delayed for 15 years, ironically the shoot of the film was completed in only 40 days, which was a record for that time.
