This film was the pilot for a proposed prequel to Hercules: The Legendary Journeys (1995) and Xena: Warrior Princess. However, the show was never picked up, and parts of the film were used in Lifeblood (2000).
Apparently based on Mark Twain's A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court. The same novel was the basis for the third Evil Dead movie Army of Darkness (1992), which involved Xenaverse legends Sam Raimi and Bruce Campbell.
