Completed in 1961 (although Father Dugan's truck bears 1956 California license plates, the birth date of the dog in the racing program is given as June 1961), this was never released theatrically in either the US or Mexico; the print broadcast on Turner Classic Movies bears a 1964 copyright statement by Specialty Records, Inc., which is the record label owned by the film's producer, Arthur Rupe. No actual copyright registration, however, can be confirmed.
There was a Dell comic book adaptation of this film that was sold in drugstores, circa 1962. However, the film itself was apparently unreleased.
Regarding the 1956 California license plate. The 1956 plates were used until 1963, when new plates were issued.
