In a chocolate box Scotland ,Madame McMiche is a stingy wealthy shrew who mistreats her ward Charles ,a nephew she reluctantly received .Fortunately ,the child-batterer's maid ,Betty ,protects the boy , a good little urchin .His cousin Marianne reveals Charles that a part of the wicked woman 's money belongs in fact to him .To get rid of her ward,who wants to see the judge, she sends him to a seedy boarding-school .....

A silent version of a popular book by the Comtesse De Ségur ,it achieves the feat of condensing the first part of a 250 -page novel in a short ,while keeping much of the action ;Madame MacMiche is sadism flesh on the bone , the episode of the letter to the financial adviser, the "protection" made by the devoted servant ,and the bell of the boarding-school who does not ring to wake up the unfortunate students at 4:30AM are all included;but they spare us Marianne's sister ,blind Juliette's preachy words .This copy is spoilt by an intrusive booming music.
