Malatesta's Carnival of Blood (1973)

Trivia

Malatesta's Carnival of Blood

Edit
Director Christopher Speeth went to court to defend actor Herve Villechaize in case where Herve stole another filmmaker's negative because he was over dubbed without Herve's knowledge. Herve said of the film "It is only half of me" since his voice was not included. Villechaize was forever grateful for Speeth's testimony that overdubbing and actor's voice without their knowledge violated their craft
Most of the movie was shot on the site of the then-defunct Willow Grove Amusement Park in Willow Grove, Pennsylvania. A lot of the props and set decorations were originally part of the Parks attractions and rides.
Director Christopher Speeth's only feature film. The film was thought lost until the director independently released it on dvd in the early 2000's. Arrow Video and the American Horror Project have released it on special edition bluray
According to director Christopher Speeth, Dan Dietrich (Malatesta), was independently wealthy and did the part for fun, not profit
Producer Richard Grosser produced and did special effects for the film. Many locations were supplied by Grosser's dad who allowed him to use properties he'd foreclosed on as sets
