    Loved it

I was hooked from the beginning and it kept me laughing until the end. The characters are well developed and support well the eccentric situational humour surrounding the main character and the actions he sinks to. The end wasn't very satisfying for me but I'm used to endings not living up to the great movie it concludes. The movie would have been much better if he had coped with those feelings instead of going with that ending.

I really enjoyed this movie, but I do have to suggest one thing to those who don't like it: LIGHTEN UP! It's just a movie, it's not supposed to be overly realistic. I wasn't disappointed at all.

    Michel Cote is Brilliant

I had the pleasure of viewing this film with a group of friends. I had never heard of Michel Côté, Sylvie Léonard or the director Gabriel Pelletier. But after seeing "Vie après l'amour, La - Life After Love," I'm impressed. As a filmmaker myself, I know that comedies are the most difficult films to make.

Michel Côté is truly a genius in every sense of the word. This film deserves to be seen. I could not believe the laughter of everyone while they watched this film. It was even more gratifying since no one understood French. They laughed from the brilliant opening scene through the entire film and were moved by the ending scene. It's not perfect, but the undiscovered talents, in the USA, of Michel Côté and all of the actors is an atrocity. Alliance Atlantis should have released this film in the United States.

Since watching this film, all of my friends have been ordering other movies by Michel Côté and director Gabriel Pelletier. Also, Ken Scott should be applauded for the script.

    Major disappointment. Viewer beware !

What starts off in high gear i.e. a great opening sequence, quickly degenerates into a real mess of undeveloped characters, totally ludicrous situations and a series of very clumsy slapstick attempts to show what happens when a man goes off the deep end after his wife leaves him for no apparent reason. The talent is definitely there and my hat goes off to Michel Cote for doing his best with surely one of the most thankless roles to come along for quite some time. The rest of the cast, including Patrick Huard, Sylvie Leonard and Guylaine Tremblay give it their all but somehow this film looks like an over-expanded sitcom that should never have made it beyond the pilot episode. The scenario for this one should have been seriously re-examined for some big gaping holes. The sequences in the dentists' office are not to be believed. Almost the kind of film that's so bad it's good - but not quite. OK, I did hang on until the bitter end just to see how bad it could get. I wasn't disappointed. The clever moments amount to about fifteen minutes of screen time. However, you might want to watch this when you have some vacuuming to do some evening as it will certainly show up on television one of these days. But do yourselves a favor. Save the rental fee. It ain't worth the long, long stretches of inane comedy/drama that made you want to send everyone involved back to the drawing board. Besides, you don't want to have nightmares about going to see the dentist. 5 out 10.
